You Have A Choice/ Give A Kind Word (enlightened sentiments)

You Have A Choice

From the moment we have conscious thinking it's obvious life has some order. Realize where you fit in. Find that territory and define yourself, or not! Wisdom tells us knowing and understanding ourselves, offers the best possible outcomes throughout life. Embrace who you are and you will find that "insight', leads to a legacy of distinguished deeds.

Give A Kind Word

A kind word goes a long way to touch a persons life. You never know how powerful a single word or sentiment can do to someones day, attitude or mood. Don't hold back, be impactful grab hold of that fleeting moment and you'll make that encounter of inspiring consequence.

Feature Post: Behind The 8 Ball (Cardona/Mercado)

Each new day can have it's ups and downs. We know they'll be many balls in the air. What needs to be avoided, is having that one ball divert your course. Sometimes you don't have a choice, but when it does, the dancing begins. You might be forced to drop some balls or pick up others. Your day starts without a hitch, on time clear minded and ready to go.There's three items on the "to do', list that needs to be taken care of, the bank, car inspection and post office. Well, the bank lobby was packed with people and the drive through was even worse. Ok, then the car inspection appointment becomes a time sensitive issue...the bank will have to wait. Onward to safeguard the car for another year. On the way there work calls and needs your attention for over thirty minutes, which makes the inspection late and landing you at the end of the list or reschedule. Thinking...suddenly the phone rings and its your child's school calling to discuss an important matter. At that point you're talking out loud! What to do? You can only energize from within to deal with the legend or resign the day to being captured by the proverbial “8 Ball".

Play Your Cards...

The dealer is doing his job. Seemingly always impartial. It's kind of like the roulette wheel, where it will go can be good or bad. We can only match wits with the best of our abilities. Stay in the game. Enjoy the competition, don't ever think you can't win. For, when that mindset takes hold it leads to nowhere. The game is made up of players who should never throw in the cards!

The Fork In The Road...

When traveling down life's roadway, there comes a time when a big decision presents itself that impacts your future tremendously. It is a monumental moment in time that we all encounter at some point or another. It may be the career decision you've been putting off, that hasn't been clear enough to decide. The pivot point here is two fold. Both have risk, one maybe more than the other. The less risky path may not be immediately beneficial but has long term benefits and growth invested with time. The other choice is a gamble that needs vision, thought and advice to decide. The fork in the road comes in many forms and levels of impact. The trick here is to be prepared, recognize when the split appears and grasp the depth of the decision that you will be making. Then, you'll march down that crossroad with grit and fortitude to create and live out your life with confidence and purpose...

Actions Speak Louder Than Words...

I'm sure we all remember as children when parents or guardians would discipline us and we'd promise to correct our behavior, and it came down to the, "actions speak louder than words", remark that can ring the bell of awareness. As children and teenagers we would oftentimes get ourselves out of trouble by promising the world of change in our actions to quiet the pep talk. And sometimes we would slip back into the same frame of mind as before. Our track record was revealing a repetitive flaw in our thinking. An agreement was made that before going out, the bedroom will be picked up and tidy...never happened. We were supposed to cut the grass weekly, and it turned out to be bi-weekly. Or, it was decided to spend more fun time with your younger sibling and excuses became the norm. Well, it was then time  for parents to take the upper hand in the situation. It came down to a parental visit to your bedroom a robust conversation, and the long lasting words of advice, that echo still in the adult mind, " actions speak louder than words."

It's In The Will…

Lot's of talking beforehand, writing it all down, dotting the "i's", crossing the 't's", speaking with all involved with ease. Corrections occur and changes possibly made. Those parties of concern have the disposition in mind of being clear and fair honoring the prearrangement in it's entirety. Thoughts encircle the writers spirit, at times scratching their heads and warming the heart as they travel back in time through life's antiquity. The caretaker at the helm holds a steady hand. Others, wait in quiet remorse, recollecting the original day of conversations. Everyone, remember to be "jovial', as for certainty the writers wishes and design are without any doubts or questions because,  'it's in the will'...

Stay In Your Lane…

Thinking back as a teenager taking driving lessons, that is when I first heard the phrase," stay in your lane".  It's humorous how it is applied in today's vernacular.  When at work, if someone is advising you to be careful with office politics...here comes that sentiment.  Another situation might arise where you want to date the boss's daughter, that phrase is tossed your way as a "tip off".  Finally, after just a few lesson's on skiing, you want to take on the " advanced slope', and the instructor recommends, yep..."stay in your lane".  For me, I'll always keep my eyes on the road, keep within the solid white lines because those lanes have always been tried and true...

I Remember That Feeling…

How many times can we recall a special feeling that perpetually stays with us?  There are many for sure. A feeling that touches our very being and registers deep in our memory bank.  It may be a moment where you realized jumping into a cold pool reverberates throughout your entire body!  But, it's very exhilarating and makes all your senses come alive.  It could be that first kiss from an admirer that opens the heart towards the awareness of relationships and commitments.  Or, that first airplane flight that left an indelible affect on future air travel.  Also, there's always that sense of maturity and accomplishment when we receive our first paycheck.  There are countless amounts of moments we experience that make us smile or frown reminiscing back in time.  Mostly, it's a reflective twinkle in our mind that we give ourselves when we warmly recall nostalgic bygone events that shaped our lives...and whisper,

                                                     “ I remember that feeling”

Not That Far Away…

We've all been in a situation at some point where our destination keeps evading us.  When we first do our mapping it crosses our mind, ' good, its not that far away'.  As we get closer the address keeps evading us.  A local resident is nice enough to offer directions. " Turn left here, then go straight and go around a circle and its on the right side."  And the parting words are, " It's not that far away."  Of course, eventually you arrive at the address but you smile to yourself and say out loud, " It really isn't that far away..."

Honor Thy Parents…

It's almost not a thought as life progresses, carrying on our personal lives as if it is all that matters.  Our nurturers, protectors are with us all the way.  What get's lost in our youth can be our display of love, thankfulness and attitude towards our parents.  In our later years of maturity as adults the realization emerges of how wonderful parents really are.  To honor our parents, seems to develop as life travels on and wisdom begins to be a dominant attribute in our psyche.  What a blessing our parents are, unconditional love and support.  In some cases we mirror ourselves against them.  It's never too late to devote memories, conversations and events that were special moments which  can only be attributed to our guardians.  Cherish times together, celebrate their impact on your life.  Never forget the spirit they held for you, perpetually remember and pay tribute towards the two people who conceived your existence.

Once in a Lifetime…

As we get older in life, we experience an event or events that resonate within us. The title suggests a one time circumstance that quickly comes and goes. But is it really? Can there be many or a few of these instances? Yes, I believe so. In many facets of our lives this adage appears most times without notice. There can be many examples. It may appear as a one time 'perfect' job opportunity that either you seized or it slipped away. Chances are another opportunity came up and it worked out well. Or, it may present itself as that dream home that somehow didn't develop but disappointed.Yet, we survived and moved on and built great memories in our home that fate directed  us to. Its such a great ideal and notion that gets romanticized almost to the point of being celestial and maybe, even out of reach. But if we are honest with ourselves, the once in a lifetime concept comes in second to our reality that we have come to love and enjoy...
